NFC South Notes: Falcons, Panthers, Saints

Falcons

Panthers

Panthers veteran TE Greg Olsen tells the Charlotte Observer that he would like to know what his future is in Carolina beyond this season.

โ€œMy preference would be to know my future here in Carolina past this year, if Iโ€™m being honest. Whether or not that happens, weโ€™ll see,โ€ Olsen said. โ€œBut that would be the ideal situation and then that would answer a lot of these unknown questions.โ€

Olsen has positioned himself for a career inย broadcasting and has even auditioned to beย Jon Grudenโ€™s replacement on ESPNโ€™s โ€œMonday Night Football.โ€

According to Olsen, he would like to remain with the Panthers beyond the 2018 season, but he’s fine no matter how things play.

โ€œEveryone knows what we went through last year trying to get something done (contractually). We were able to kind of patchwork it,โ€ Olsen said. โ€œBut overall I have a lot of trust in Marty and Ron. Theyโ€™ve always been very fair to me.

โ€œIf this was my last year in Carolina, Iโ€™d have no ill will. Theyโ€™ve been more than generous and good to me. I would prefer it to be longer. But this team is a lot more than just my situation.โ€
