Cardinals
Cardinals RB David Johnson says he has beenย “encouraged” that the two sides continue to discuss a potential extension.
“I think that’s what it is — I didn’t play,” Johnson said, via AzCardinals.com. “I didn’t play last year. I was hoping my production from my second year and what I did my first year would help out, but the NFL is what have you done for me lately, so hopefully I can prove it once the season starts.”
We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
Rams
A report from Monday said thatย chatter is increasing around the league that the Rams and DT Aaron Donald could be closing in on a long-term extension. (NFLTR)
However, Rams HC Sean McVay told reporters that this is “news to us.”
โIโve seen a lot of reports out there, but thatโs news to us,โ McVay said, via Pro Football Talk. โSo, no news on that front for us. Same thing as just the dialogue, but as far as anything thatโs changed, it hasnโt changed.โ
Seahawks
Seahawks OCย Brian Schottenheimer says that he’s beenย โvery encouragedโ by WR Brandon Marshallโs progress up to this point.
โItโs been really good,โ Schottenheimer said, via Pro Football Talk. โI mean, he had a big play today. Itโs just, thereโs some timing stuff still. He and Russ (Wilson) are working through it. Thatโs a big part of him being out there but I love seeing him out there. Heโs been over with us during the quarterback individual stuff, which is great. Theyโre talking all the time, but yes. Very encouraged.โ
Pete Carroll added that Marshall is getting closer to cutting it loose.
โHe continues to be closer to full go, cut it loose,โ Carroll said. โHe can play, but it hasnโt really, we really havenโt let him go upfield, run downfield, top speed and all that stuff yet. We restricted him some and heโs been told to be restricted a little bit when he plays just to make sure that we donโt have any setbacks.โ
