NFL Notes: 49ers, Buccaneers, Chargers, Jets, & Titans

49ers

• John Middlekauff reports that the 49ers are trying to get a deal in place with G Mike Iupati before the start of free agency.
• However, Middlekauff is told that it’s not likely, given that Iupati is believed to be seeking $8.5 per year.

Buccaneers

• Roy Cummings is hearing that the Buccaneers have “little or no real interest” in re-signing Da’Quan Bowers.
• Cummings adds that this doesn’t mean it won’t happen, but it seems unlikely at this point in time.

Chargers

• Kevin Acee reports that the Chargers were “real players” for WR Randall Cobb, but they knew the Packers could swoop in last minute and keep him, which is what happened.

Jets

• Rich Cimini reports that free agent DT Chris Canty had a good meeting with Jets on Saturday, but didn’t reach an agreement with the team.
• According to Cimini, they will keep lines of communication open while he visits with other teams.

Titans

• Jeremy Fowler reports that three teams have called to express interest in Titans free agent K Ryan Succop.
