NFL Notes: Antonio Cromartie, Replay Changes, Colts, Jets & Panthers

Antonio Cromartie

Free agent CB Antonio Cromarite tweeted that he would “love” to play for the Panthers, but it’s obviously not up to him at this point.

Replay Changes

  • Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports that the NFL competition committee plans to make an instant replay proposal to owners next week that would make changes to the plays subject to potential replay reviews.
  • Maske’s sources said that this proposal is “much more limited” than one made by the Ravens earlier this offseason, which would have been a “significant alteration.”

Colts

  • Colts WR Donte Moncrief underwent turf toe surgery earlier this offseason, but the team is not worried about him long-term. (Stephen Holder)
  • Jason Cole reports that Colts WR Philip Dorsett suffered just a “tweak” of his hamstring in practice Tuesday that is not considered to be serious.

Jets

Jets WR Eric Decker mentioned that the team’s players have moved on from being concerned about whether Ryan Fitzpatrick will be back as their starting quarterback.

“All I can say is we have to move on without him, right now,” Decker said on SiriusXM Radio Tuesday, via the New York Daily News. “Because they are stuck where they are with the business decision, where they want to go with the money, who’s going to break. But again we have a job to do and that’s to be the best football team, field the best football team, of who we have in the locker room right now.

Decker explained that they’re built to win now, given the team’s talent on the offensive side of the ball.

I have a lot of respect for Ryan Fitzpatrick,” Decker said. “I know he’s been with a lot of teams over his career, but we found the formula last year that worked for us. And we don’t have a lot of years left offensively. I think Brandon’s older, I’m getting older, we’ve got Forte now, he’s getting older. We have the pieces right now to win.
