Bears
- Jason La Canfora reports that QB Brian Hoyer remains on track to start again for the Bears in Week 5.
Buccaneers
- Jeremy Fowler reports that Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (hamstring) “needs another week” before he’ll be able to return. Fowler adds that barring “one impressive injury report success story”, Martin is out forย Monday’s game.
Giants
- Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that Giants RB Rashad Jennings (thumb, questionable) is unlikely to play Week 5’s game against the Packers.
- This means that Orleans Darkwa will likely draw the start while Bobby Rainey should have a decent role in the team’s offense.
Jets
- Despite his struggles, Rich Cimini doesn’t see the Jets benching QB Ryan Fitzpatrick this weekend unless the game is out of hand.
- Cimini says that there is some frustration in the organization because of the alarming number of turnovers Fitzpatrick has had this year, but Cimini doesn’t get the sense that they have much confidence in Geno Smith right now.
- If the season ends up getting away from the Jets, Cimini could see them turning to one of their younger quarterbacks like Bryce Petty.
Lions
- The Lions ruled out TE Eric Ebron, LB DeAndre Levy, and DE Ziggy Ansah for Week 5’s game. (Kyle Meinke)
