NFL Notes: Bills, Cardinals, Chargers, Colts, & Panthers

Bills

• According to Sal Capaccio of WGR 550, the Bills have had “positive” communication with WR Percy Harvin, who is away from the team with hip and knee injuries.

Cardinals

Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin indicated that the Cardinals could get RB Andre Ellington more involved this weekend.

“I think BA (head coach Bruce Arians) has stuff for him and he didn’t get to it, but I’m sure he’ll get to it this week,” Goodwin said, via the Arizona Republic. “As you saw (Monday night), there was a series where I think he pretty much was in there the whole series because he (Arians) wanted to get him going.

“He’s got fresh legs, obviously.”

Chargers

Chargers DC John Pagano admitted that his defensive unit has to do a better job moving forward after they allowed Raiders QB Derek Carr to go 17 for 22 for 208 yards with a 137.5 passer rating in the first half of Week 7’s game.

“It starts with: we’re all accountable, No. 1; myself,” Pagano said, via the San Diego Union-Tribune. “We’ve got to do a better job. We didn’t play good. We didn’t coach good.”

“It’s not something that we just brush off in any sense,” Pagano added. “There’s been a lot of ticked-off attitudes around here.”

Colts

• Colts signed G Kitt O’Brien to their practice squad.

Panthers

• Panthers HC Ron Rivera announced that C Ryan Kalil (ankle) and rookie LB Shaq Thompson (knee) are doubtful for Monday, but admitted they’ll be game-time decisions. (Max Henson)
