NFL Notes: Browns, Cardinals, Colts, & Eagles

Browns

• Browns HC Mike Pettine won’t comment on whether they would consider reducing FS Tashaun Gipson‘s restricted tender. (Nate Ulrich)
• Ulrich notes that the CBA gives the Browns the ability to drop Gipson’s tender from $2.356 million to around $627,000, which is 110% of his 2014 base salary.

Cardinals

• Cardinals GM Steve Keim confirmed that Deone Bucannon will be one of the team’s starting safeties in 2015. (Josh Weinfuss)

Colts

• Mike Chappell is “convinced” that Colts WR T.Y. Hilton will wait until after the season before pursuing a new contract after listening to GM Ryan Grigson.

Eagles

• According to Adam Caplan, the Eagles were still planning to sign a guard before veteran G Evan Mathis was released.
• Caplan now expects the team to sign at least one guard in the coming weeks.
• Zach Berman expects Allen Barbre to start at left guard.
• As for right guard, Berman mentions that Matt Tobin, Andrew Gardner, and Dennis Kelly will likely compete for the job.
