NFL Notes: Buccaneers, Jaguars, Patriots

Buccaneers

Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy recently said the team should bring back DE Michael Bennett if he were to be available.

Interestingly enough, Bennett recently told Rock Riley of 1040 AM in Tampa Bay that if anything were to happen with the Seahawks, returning to the Buccaneers would be “ideal.”

โ€œIf anything ever happened with Seattle, I mean Tampa would be like an ideal to go back and get a chance to win a championship with those guys,โ€ Bennett said, via JoeBucsFan.com. โ€œBut right now Iโ€™m a Seahawk, so. But itโ€™s always cool to have your old teammates want you to back on the teamย because it means you made a really good impression on them and youโ€™re really good friends.โ€

Bennett said a month ago that he “probably won’t be back” in Seattle next year (NFLTR), so this is at least something to keep an eye on should the Seahawks elect to move on.

Jaguars

  • According to Mark Long, the Pro Bowl will be the final game in which the Jaguars where their two-tone, black and gold helmets.
  • Long doesn’t provide any details beyond that, but it sounds like Jacksonville may have new helmets for the 2018 season.

Patriots

Patriots QB Tom Brady tells Suzy Kolber of ESPN that his hand still isn’t a 100 percent healed, but he thinks it’s in a “decent place.

I’m still working on it,” Brady said, via ESPN. “Again, it was only 11 days ago when I hurt it. But I think we’re in a decent place and hopefully it can get better of the course of the next seven days. I’m not quite where I want it to be right now, but hopefully by game time it should be.
