NFL Notes: Cowboys, Bengals, Buccaneers

Cowboys

Cowboys OL La’el Collinsย said he’s been working at right tackle and not left guard during the team’sย offseason program.

โ€œOh, man, itโ€™s awesome actually,โ€ Collins said, via the Star-Telegram. โ€œI actually forgot how good it felt to be out on the edge, to kind of be out there on an island. Right now weโ€™re not doing too much, just kind of working plays against the air. Thatโ€™s about it. But it feels good.โ€

Collins explained that he feels he’s capable of playing anywhere on the offensive line.

โ€œI just kind of feel like I can play anywhere,โ€ Collins said. โ€œI feel like I can play all positions other than center. I donโ€™t know if I can do that. Travis [Frederick] has got a tough job. Itโ€™s harder than it looks. I really feel like I can play anywhere. I have the mentality of I donโ€™t care where Iโ€™m at, whoeverโ€™s in front of me Iโ€™m going to move them off the ball and thatโ€™s how itโ€™s going to be. Thatโ€™s the way I feel.โ€

Bengals

  • Jim Owczarskiย doesn’t expect the Bengals to sign any of their tryout players to contracts, as they already have 89 players currently under contract.

Buccaneers

The Buccaneers passed on signing a number of tryoutย players on Sunday following the team’s rookie minicamp session.ย Some of the players not signed to contracts include:
