NFL Notes: Dez Bryant, Kam Chancellor, Buccaneers, & Lions

Dez Bryant

Cowboys WR Dez Bryant mentioned that the first time he had heard about the existence of a video ofย a parking incident came from owner Jerry Jones.

โ€œThe first time I heard that was from Mr. Jones last season: He said there was a tape of me that might get out,โ€ Bryant told Rolling Stone, via the Dallas Morning News.

Bryant said he suspected that his former adviser, David Wells, was responsible for leaking informationย to the media.

Rolling Stone managed to speak toย Wells about the situation, which heย denied being the source.

However,ย Wells did say:ย โ€œBut have you seen the police report? Have you heard the 911 call? Something happened in that parking lot, and I didnโ€™t drum it up!โ€

Kam Chancellor

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has spoken to a number ofย executives around the league who believe the Seahawksย needs to take a hard-line stance with holdout S Kam Chancellor.

โ€œThey can’t give a guy a new deal every time he asks for it,โ€ one rival executive said. โ€œJohn has done such a great job there — and they did create this monster a little bit with the Lynch contracts — but they can’t do this, too.โ€

La Canfora believes the Seahawks, at the very least, have to find out ifย Chancellor is willing to miss a few game checks before the consider addressing his contract.

Buccaneers

Lions

Lions second-round RBย Ameer Abdullah said he would be fine if the team elected to go with a committee approach at running backย this year.

“There’s certain things necessary to get that team [to the playolffs],” Abdullah said, via Detroit Free Press.ย “and if that’s to be a running back team by committee, I’m going to be that guy. And when I’m in, I’m going to make sure I make an impact.”
