Draft
- Ian Rapoport reports that all 32 NFL teams have been informed that Colorado WR Laviska Shenault Jr. is expected to be fully recovered from core muscle surgery by April 25.
- According to Aaron Wilson, Charlotte EDGE Alex Highsmith has had video conferences with the Texans, Patriots, Cardinals, Titans, Falcons, Colts, Bills, and Jaguars.
- TCU WR Jalen Reagor has had virtual meetings with the Eagles and Cowboys, and also “drawn steady interest” from the Colts, Seahawks, Dolphins, and Giants. (Aaron Wilson)
- According to Jason La Canfora, the NFL has mandated that prospects involved in the 2020 NFL Draft broadcast should not have any gathering of more than six people due to social-distancing regulations.
Dolphins
- Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that CB Byron Jones received comparable offers from the Eagles and Raiders, but ultimately chose to play for the Dolphins due to his interest and playing in Miami and his admiration for HC Brian Flores.
- Jackson also says that despite the team being secure at inside linebacker, the Dolphins should still take a look at some of the stellar prospects in the draft including Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray and LSU’s Patrick Queen.
- Other players Jackson notes who could go in the later rounds of the draft include Texas Tech’s Jordyn Brooks, LSU’s Jacob Phillips, Ohio State’s Malik Harrison, Oregon’s Troy Dye, Wyoming’s Logan Wilson, California’s Evan Weaver, Purdue’s Markus Bailey, and Miami’s Shaquille Quarterman.
- According to Jackson, the Dolphins have interviewed former Penn State WR Dan Chisena, who skipped three years of football to focus on track and field. Jackson notes that the Dolphins will likely give him a look as an undrafted free agent.
- Jackson mentions that the Dolphins have reached out to several defenders including Mississippiโs Qaadir Sheppard, Charlotteโs Alex Highsmith, Templeโs Shaun Bradley, and Syracuseโs Ken Coleman.
- The Dolphins have also had video conferences with top center prospects Matt Hennessey of Temple and Nik Harris of Washington, but they have not met with Michigan C Cesar Ruiz, according to Jackson.
Patriots
- Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald believes Utah S Terrell Burgess would be an ideal fit for the Patriots given he converted from cornerback similar to Patriots S Devin McCourty.
- Doug Kyed would be surprised if the Patriots waited until the sixth or seventh round to add a new kicker, nothing that the team previously drafted K Stephen Gostkowski in the fourth round.
