NFL Notes: Falcons, Raiders, Rams, Texans & Titans

Falcons

  • ESPN’s Britt McHenry reports there is a “strong possibility” Falcons offensive assistant Mike McDaniel will take over as offensive coordinator if Kyle Shanahan departs for a head coaching job.

Raiders

  • Jason Cole reports that the Raiders and Sheldon Adelson have made “significant progress” toward a deal to move the team to Las Vegas.

Rams

Rams COO Kevin Demoff mentioned that they were “intrigued” by college coaches, their focus remains on NFL coordinators for now:

I don’t see that as being an active part of our search,” Demoff said, via the Orange County Register. “I think our focus right now is assistant coaches in the NFL who are likely to be head coaches.

Texans

Both Texans HC Bill O’Brien and QB Brock Osweiler downplayed a loud argument that occurred between the two at halftime Sunday during a loss to the Titans.

Look, it’s an intense game,” O’Brien said Wednesday, via the Houston Chronicle. “It’s football. You’ve got competitive guys, passionate guys about the team, about winning, especially quarterback-head coach. If there was a what you would term a heated exchange, that happens all the time. I’m not sure what you’re referring to. Those things happen. We’re very focused on the Raiders game.

“What happens between coach O’Brien and myself or whatever’s said between coach O’Brien and myself, it stays between us,” Osweiler said. “That’s where I’m going to leave that. My focus has moved toward Oakland.”

Titans

  • The Tennessee Titans announced Wednesday that they’ve fired receivers coach Bob Bratkowski and assistant wide receivers coach Jason Tucker.
