NFL Notes: Giants, Panthers, Raiders & Saints

Giants

• ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL plans to look into the situation involving Giants OT Ereck Flowers, who pushed a reporter following Sunday’s game.

Panthers

• Panthers HC Ron Rivera told reporters on Tuesday that QB Cam Newton is still in the concussion protocol but was able to run and throw yesterday. (Black & Blue Review)

Raiders

• Jason Cole of B/R reports that the Raiders could take a huge step towards a Las Vegas stadium this week.
• Cole mentions that the Nevada Legislature is expected to approve a $750 million expenditure for a new stadium.
• However, Cole says that there are still issues from the NFL’s perspective such as how the Raiders will share revenue with developer Sheldon Adelson among them.

Saints

• Nick Underhill points out that LB Dannell Ellerbe’s contract voids if he plays more than 80 percent of the snaps this year. However, he’ll need to return soon or he’ll likely remain under contract for the 2017 season.
• Saints HC Sean Payton said he expects rookie DT Sheldon Rankins and CB Delvin Breaux to return before “the midpoint of the season.” (New Orleans Times-Picayune)
