NFL Notes: Jets, Saints, Seahawks & Michael Bennett

Jets

• Dom Cosentino of NJ.com takes a look at three veteran players for the Jets who are likely on the roster bubble this summer.
• According to Cosentino, veteran K Nick Folk will face competition from rookie Ross Martin in the coming weeks.
• With the Jets bringing in Matt Forte and Khiry Robinson to go along with Bilal Powell, Zac Stacy could face an up-hill battle to secure a roster spot.
• Interestingly enough, former fourth-round QB Bryce Petty could be the odd-man out after New York grabbed Christian Hackenberg in the second round.
• Cosentino considers NT Deon Simon someone worth keeping an eye on in regards to a reserve spot on the team’s roster behind free agent acquisition Steve McLendon.

Saints

• Nick Underhill of the Advocate examines the Saints’ linebacker position and who’s in the best position to make the 53-man roster later this summer.
  Underhill considers Stephone Anthony, Dannell Ellerbe and James Laurinaitis to be locks to make the team with Craig Robertson and Nate Stupar both being “good bets.”
  That leaves Dillon Lee, Michael Mauti, Jeff Schoettmer and Tony Steward likely all fighting for jobs.

Seahawks

• Seahawks DE Michael Bennett said Thursday that he’s still not happy about his current contract situation and believes he has outplayed the agreement.
• Joel Corry offers a small move the Seahawks could consider to appease Bennett — at least for the time being — which would involve converting his $1 million active roster bonus into his 2016 base salary.
