Josh Gordon
Former Olympian Tim Montgomery, who has been working with suspended Browns WR Josh Gordon, expects him to return at some point during the 2017 season.
โHeโs coming,โ Montgomery told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. โI think heโs going to be there this season.โ
Gordon is still in rehab but he is hoping to have his suspension lifted soon after heโs released on Sept. 21.
โHeโs been clean, so weโre hoping after 90 days heโs reinstated and they put him back in the league, which it looks like theyโre going to do that,โ said Montgomery.
Montgomery believes Gordon was denied reinstatement this past May because he missed his mandatory drug tests.
โItโs my understanding that Josh was clean, but that he wasnโt answering his phone,โ said Montgomery. โJosh would go somewhere and he wouldnโt tell anyone he was going out of town and he wouldnโt pick his phone up. He didnโt want to tell his people โI canโt come out there because Iโve got to stay here and answer the phone for drug tests.โโ
