NFL Notes: Lions, Ravens, Steelers

Lions

  • Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Lions CB Desmond Trufant‘s two-year, $20 million deal includes a $5 million signing bonus, base salaries of $4.5 million and $9.5 million, and up to $500,000 in per-game active annual roster bonuses.
  • Trufant’s 2020 base salary is fully guaranteed, while $3.5 million of his 2021 base salary is guaranteed for skill-cap and $4.5 million is guaranteed for injury. Another $1 million becomes guaranteed on the third day of the 2021 league year. 
  • Lions S Miles Killebrew‘s one-year, $2 million deal includes a $137,500 signing bonus and a $1.862 million guaranteed base salary. (Wilson)
  • Lions S Jayron Kearse‘s one-year, $2 million deal includes a $500,000 signing bonus, $1 million base salary, up to $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses and a $750,000 playing time incentive. (Wilson)

Ravens

  • Ravens DL Jihad Ward‘s one-year, $1.047 million deal includes a $137,500 signing bonus, base salary of $910,000 with $500,000 guaranteed and a veteran salary benefit. (Aaron Wilson)

Steelers

  • According to the Athletic’s Mark Kaboly, the Steelers wanted to bring back OL B.J. Finney but switched gears to OL Stefen Wisniewski after getting outbid by the Seahawks. 
  • Kaboly mentions Steelers OT Matt Feiler, who was given a second-round tender as a restricted free agent, could be a candidate for an extension before the start of the season.
