Terrance Knighton

• A head coach tells Dianna Marie Russini that teams are afraid to sign DL Terrance Knighton because “he’s out of shape.“
• Knighton is still meeting with Redskins right now, but both the Raiders and Bears have passed on him, per Russini.

Chiefs

• Terez A. Paylor reports that the Chiefs have had “exploratory talks” with free agent C Tim Barnes.
• Paylor adds that he expects the Chiefs to sign a veteran center at some point.

Jets

• Jets re-signed long snapper Tanner Purdum. (Aaron Wison)

Saints

• A source tells Rand Getlin: “The Saints are literally shopping every single player on their roster. Complete fire sale.“
• Jeremy Fowler also reports that the Saints appear to be shopping everyone but QB Drew Brees and WR Brandin Cooks.
• Mike Triplett reports that the Saints remain in play for free agent CB Tramon Williams, who is back home mulling over this options.

Steelers

• Jason La Canfora reports that the Steelers are quietly exploring options for a returner.
