NFL Notes: Patrick Willis, Dolphins, Eagles, Packers, Panthers, & Vikings

Patrick Willis

• Mike Garafolo reports that LB Patrick Willis‘ toe injury is part of the reason he wants to walk away from the game, but he plans to use his time to do some community work, particularly with children.
• A 49ers source tells Josina Anderson that Willis was lifting at the team’s facility just this past week. Anderson  adds that they are still in shock by his decision.

Dolphins

• The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that the Dolphins are expected to cut P Brandon Fields unless he agrees to restructure his contract.

Eagles

• Geoff Mosher reports that the Eagles showing “a little bit” of interest in free agent CB Tramon Williams.

Packers

• Tyler Dunne reports that the Packers still want to re-sign NT Letroy Guion, but they would like to do so at a reduced rate following his off-field problems.

Panthers

• Joe Person reports that the Panthers have re-signed exclusive rights free-agent WR/PR Brenton Bersin to one-year deal.

Vikings

• According to Darren Wolfson, it sounds like the Vikings have made an offer to free agent QB Shaun Hill. Wolfson adds that whether he accepts is another matter.
