NFL Notes: Russell Wilson, Draft, Colts, & Redskins

Russell Wilson

Jason Cole considers the talk of Russell Wilson possibly playing baseball at some point to be a clear leverage play on his part.

According to Cole, Wilson is doing everything he can to get a deal done now. Cole brings up an interesting point which is that Wilson has a baseball agent which has created a mix of issues between the two sides.

Cole mentions that the Seahawks aren’t buying the talk of him playing baseball given that he hasn’t played in four years and never managed to get beyond single A.

Draft

Mike Florio mentions that the concerns regarding Boise State RB Jay Ajayi’s knee are “overblown, if not fabricated.” Florio adds that some teams could be trying to trash Ajayi to cause him to drop in the draft.

However, Dane Brugler reiterates that multiple teams have “strong” concerns regarding Ajayi’s knee in the long-run.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that James Madison WR Daniel Brown has been drawing interest from the Dolphins, Colts, Redskins, and Falcons.
  • Tony Pauline reports that Tennessee-Chattanooga OLB Davis Tull is visiting with the Falcons Tuesday and the Steelers on Wednesday.

Colts

Redskins

  • Redskins hosted OLB Vic Beasley for a visit on Tuesday. (Aaron Wilson)
