NFL Notes: Tony Dungy, Dolphins, Jets & Ravens

Tony Dungy

Former Buccaneers and Colts HC Tony Dungy tells Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that he has no intention of returning to the NFL as a head coach again.

โ€œI am done with that for sure,โ€ Dungy said.

According to Florio, there has been some โ€œfairly strong chatterโ€ in league circles that the Jaguars could make a push to hire Dungy.

Dolphins

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is now โ€œday-to-dayโ€ as opposed to โ€œweek-to-weekโ€œ, despite sustaining MCL and ACL sprains a few weeks ago.
  • According to Florio, thereโ€™s still some question as to whether the Dolphins are really comfortable allowing Tannehill to play on a partially torn ACL, considering that the ligament wonโ€™t heal on its own, so heโ€™s more susceptible to further damage.

Jets

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Jets HC Todd Bowles will be visiting with a doctor today after he was hospitalized a few days ago. Bowles was able to rejoin the team in New England for Saturdayโ€™s game.
  • According to Rich Cimini, Bowles was hospitalized with what he called kidney and gallbladder issues.

Ravens

Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs told reporters after Sundayโ€™s game that he return and play next season.

โ€œI donโ€™t know what you heard. โ€ฆ I was always planning to come back and doing this another year,โ€ Suggs said, via the Baltimore Sun.
