Former Colts RB Zurlon Tipton Dies After Accidentally Shooting Himself

Update:

———-

Police tellย FOX 2 in Detroit that NFL RBย Zurlon Tipton fatally shot himself by accidentย at a Roseville car dealership on Tuesday.

According to Police,ย Tipton pulledย into a service bay at the dealership around 9:30 a.m. and was taking aย duffel bag out of his trunk when one gun that was inside of the bagย accidentally went off struck him in the stomach.

Police expected Tipton to be okay, considering that he was speaking with people upon beingย transported to the hospital.

No one else was injured duringย the shooting.

This is terrible news and our thoughts and prayer go out toย Tipton’s family and friends.

Tipton, 26, signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michiganย back in May of 2014. He was on and off of the Colts’ active roster before being waived late last season.

In December of last year, Tipton was arrested for allegedly firing an assault rifle in Greenwood.ย Witnesses told police the suspects fled the scene in a Jeep, which was tracked down a couple of blocks from the scene.

In 2015, Tipton has appeared in 10 games and ran for 20ย yards on fiveย carries to go along with five receptions forย 57 yards receiving.
