NFL Rumors: Chicago Targeting Free Agent WR’s?

The Bears offense showed some promise last season despite the poor play from their offensive line group. Chicago’s receiver core is decent but could really be helped by the addition of a solid possession receiver since they have a few guys that can stretch the field.

Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune writes that the Chicago Bears are likely to look to the free agent market for a mid-range player.

If the Bears don’t pick a receiver in the draft, they almost assuredly will be in the market for one in free agency.

The obvious options would be Santonio Holmes, Santana Moss and Steve Smith (NYG) but there are a lot of things that would have to be sorted out before any of these speculative options could be considered. Here’s a list of the available Free Agent Wide Receivers.
