Mike Jones of theย Washington Post reports that league insiders have informed him that the Washington Redskins are “high” on Green Bay Packers DE Cullen Jenkins, who is reported to have mutual interest in the idea.
Washington made the decision to shift their defensive direction to a 3-4 scheme last year and Jenkins just happens to have played DE in a similar system with a good amount of success. It would be a good move for team that’s in need of a solid defensive end.
Interestingly enough, the Green Bay Packers have a need at the position but failed to franchise him before the deadline in February. The Packers most have thought that they would be able to address the position during the draft but that didn’t end up being the case. Green Bay took two players in the later part of the draft so they’ll end up being developmental prospects.
