NFL Rumors: Dallas Cowboys Trading Down?

Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com reports that the Dallas Cowboys have been taking calls about possibly trading out of the No. 9 overall selection.

The news comes as a bit of a surprise mainly because of the fact that the Cowboys have some serious needs that have to be addressed such as cornerback and offensive tackle. Keeping the No. 9 selection would allow them take a solid player like CB Prince Amukamara that could come in and help their secondary immediately. Maybe Jerry Jones feels that they could trade down a few positions and still get an impact player and not have to pay them as much money.

Both the Houston Texans and the Detroit Lions have big needs at cornerback so there’s a chance that they could trade up a few picks to address the position. The Minnesota Vikings are another team that could be considering a deal that would give them a better chance at getting one of the top quarterbacks. These options are purely speculative.
