NFL Rumors: Draft, Colts, Dolphins, Eagles & Vikings



  • Tony Pauline reports that Louisville DT Sheldon Rankins has official visits scheduled with the Cowboys, Buccaneers and Bills.
  • According to Pauline, Florida S Keanu Neal is still in the conversation as the first-round pick for the Steelers, and he recently worked out for the Falcons.
  • Luke Rodgers reports that Texas Tech WR Jakeem Grant has a private workout today with the Colts, and visits lined up with the Cowboys and Dolphins next month.


  • Colts owner Jim Irsay told reports that they’re meeting with free agents this week and those decisions remain fluid. (Stephen Holder)


  • Dolphins executive VP Mike Tannenbaum didn’t rule out drafting a quarterback: “If the right opportunity in the draft for a quarterback comes up we won’t rule it out.” (Andrew Abramson)
  • Tannenbaum added that they want to have as much flexibility as possible entering the draft. (James Walker)
  • Florida CB Vernon Hargreaves said he’s the best cornerback in the draft and added that the Dolphins have shown “heavy interest” in him. Hargreaves has a meeting with the Dolphins later today. (Jesse Re Simonton)


  • Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said the plan was always for Howie Roseman to be responsible for the team’s personnel this offseason. (Jeff McLane)
  • Lurie added that they’ll wait until May to hire a head of player personnel. (Jeff McLane)
  • Lurie mentioned that he wants to get back to drafting a quarterback every year or every other year like they did in the past.
  • However, Lurie did say that he’s confident in their current group of quarterbacks and made it clear that Sam Bradford is their No. 1 option. (Zach Berman)


  • Vikings HC Mike Zimmer told Pro Football Talk that veteran LB Chad Greenway returning to Minnesota is a possibility: “I think so. They still have to work out the contract negotiations and all those things.’’ (Chris Tomasson)
  • Zimmer said WR Cordarrelle Patterson can help make up for loss of Mike Wallace next year: “We’re hoping Cordarrelle Patterson gets it on the right track.’’ (Chris Tomasson)
