Gus Bradley
- Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports that Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley signed just a one-year contract with Los Angeles this offseason, which means he’ll now have an opportunity to interview for notable vacancies.
- One possibility worth keeping an eye on for Bradley could be the Seahawks in the event some team hires defensive coordinator Kris Richard as their head coach.
49ers
49ers HC Kyle Shanahan mentioned that there’s “no doubt” defensive coordinator Robert Saleh will be back with the team next year.
โYeah, thereโs no doubt about that,โ Shanahan tells Matt Maiocco of NBC Bay Area.ย โRobert has been great. I think heโs gotten better throughout the year, and I think heโll be even better next year. Robert has a great future ahead of him. And I feel very fortunate that heโs the coordinator for the Niners.โ
Jets
Jets impending free agent CB Morris Claiborne says he’s hoping to be back with the team next year.
โI hope to be back here,โ Claiborne told Newsday. โThatโs my plan, thatโs what I want to do. I like it here. I like the coaching staff, the trainers, I like everything about the Jets organization, since Iโve been here. Itโs been nothing but love. I would rather go nowhere else, I would rather stay here.โ
Claiborne also said he’s hoping HC Todd Bowles will return for the 2018 season.
โIf it was up to me, my opinion on it, Todd would be the guy,โ Claiborne said. โAs far as I know, he will be the guy, so I like Todd and I like everything that he stands for. I love his defensive scheme and the way he goes by the head coaching job and I love everything about it.โ
Vikings
- Jason La Canfora reports that the Vikings are among the teams that could end up losing multiple coaches during the upcoming coaching cycle.
- According to La Canfora, Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur is expected to generate a good amount of interest from NFL teams in the coming weeks and could beย the top offensive coach available outside of Patriots OC Josh McDaniels.
- Meanwhile, Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards also is highly thought of and should interview for positions.
