NFL Rumors: Mallett A Possibility At No. 10?

The last few days have been dominated by Washington Redskins rumors.

NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that the sources close to Redskins have told him that the Ryan Mallett is still a possibility at N0. 10.

“I’m convinced he’ll go in the first round,” said Lombardi, predicting Mallett will land “Somewhere between 1 and 20.”

So far we’ve heard that Washington was considering trading up for Blaine Gabbert, trading down for either Christian Ponder or Andy Dalton and even staying at No. 10 and taking Julio Jones.

This is what happens during the week leading up to draft. Basically, the Redskins are open to multiple ideas but they’re also not afraid to let people know that they are considering a number of players.

Of the mentioned ideas, trading down makes the most sense but it will be tough to move down considering that teams are more likely to trade up for quarterbacks. At No. 10, it would be considered a reach to a quarterback but that hasn’t stopped teams in the past.
