NFL Rumors: Mike Singletary Will Be Vikings Assistant Coach?

Mike Singletary addressed the rumors that he will become the Vikings linebackers coach today on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000 in Chicago.

“I will be in Minnesota with Les[lie Frazer],” Singletary said Tuesday.   “I will be a linebackers coach/assistant head coach.”

The team has yet to come out and announce the move but Singletary’s comments suggest that a deal is already in place. Nothing’s guaranteed but this looks like as sure of a thing as any.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that Mike Singletary  is expected to become the Minnesota Vikings linebackers coach. Many people have suggested that Singletary wasn’t ready to be a head coach when the San Francisco 49ers promoted him towards the end of last year.

One other note regarding the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff, the Vikings are getting ready to announce their next offensive coordinator and Fred Pagac is considered to be the favorite.
