NFL Rumors: Redskins Trading Down?

Last week we mentioned that several reports indicated that the Washington Redskins were looking to trade up for a quarterback such as Blaine Gabbert but this idea comes with a high price that could force them to mortgage their future draft picks.

CBSSports.com’s Pete Prisco is reporting that the Redskins are actually looking to move down in the draft rather than up into the first few picks. Prisco mentions that the team would like to move down and take either Christian Ponder or Andy Dalton.

Moving down could net them some much needed draft picks while still allowing them to get a solid quarterback prospect to build around. The only issue with this idea is that every trade needs a partner so we’ll have to see if anyone is interested in moving up to the No. 10 spot.
