Russell Wilson
On Wednesday, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports passed along a rumor that’s โhappening in the entertainment agent worldโ that the Giants could end up being a possible landing spot for Seahawks QB Russell Wilson.
โEverybody will deny it. Itโs not good to be out now,โ Cowherd said. “But Russell Wilsonโs wife is Ciara. She is a singer and an entertainer. She would prefer to live in New York. And the Giants need a quarterback, and there is nobody in the draft they love.
โA lot of things add up: Last year of Russellโs contract, his wife would prefer New York (because) Seattle is not an entertainment mecca. The Giants need a star quarterback to replace Eli. … The Giants also have an offensive head coach, not a 66-year-old defensive head coach.“
Le’Veon Bell
- Jason La Canfora reports that Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell is seeking a contract worth $50 million dollars over the first two years.
- According to La Canfora, there’s “plenty of skepticism” Bell will secure this kind of contract.
- However, La Canfora says the Jets, Eagles and Buccaneers are all worth watching as potential landing spots for Bell.
Antonio Brown
- Following the comments by Steelers GM Kevin Colbert that they will attempt to trade WR Antonio Brown, Jason La Canfora reports that teams have already begun contacting Pittsburgh about a potential deal.
- Sources tell Jeremy Fowler that the Steelers plan to remain patient in trade talks for Brown and want to secure a high draft pick in return for him.
- Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes that Antonio Brown‘s meeting on Tuesday with Steelers owner Art Rooney II, GM Kevin Colbert, and executive Omar Khan was not an attempt at reconciliation, but rather Rooney discovering what went wrong with Brown.
- Should the Steelers exchange Brown in a trade, Dulac writes that the Pittsburgh would avoid trading to divisional teams like the Ravens, Bengals, or Browns, while they would also not trade with the Patriots.
