Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch first reported that Ohio State DE Nick Bosa has decided to not return to the Buckeyes this season and instead plans to focus on preparing for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Bosa has reportedly informed Ohio State HC Urban Meyer of his decision and is scheduled to meet with Dr. William Meyers for a follow-up visit in November.
Last month, Bosa suffered a core muscle injury that has kept him sidelined. While it’s possible he could have returned to the team at some point, it appears as though Bosa decided it was best to not risk further injury, which could impact his draft status next year.
Bosa should end up being a top-5 pick next year when all is said and done.
During his college career at Ohio State, Bosa recorded 77 tackles, 29 tackles for a loss, 17.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two pass defenses and a defensive touchdown over the course of three seasons and 29 games.
