The Philadelphia Eagles gave a slight edge in first-team reps at Monday’s OTA to backup quarterback Nick Foles rather than giving more to starter Michael Vick.
Foles, who saw 21 snaps Monday, edged out Vick’s 15 reps at practice, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane.
Last Monday, Vick held a 21-16 advantage in snaps at OTAs.
Whether or not this is the indication of a quarterback battle remains to be unseen. It is interesting to see alternating weeks produce a different “winner” in snap counts for Chip Kelly’s offense.
On an added note, fourth-round pick Matt Barkley saw a dramatic increase in his snaps with the third team. He saw 21 plays under center where as the fourth string QB, Dennis Dixon, saw just five.
