Giantsย WR Odell Beckham Jr tells Josina Anderson of ESPN that heย is traveling to New York to be at the team’s facility for the start of offseason workouts on Monday.

Beckham says he plans toย “check in, workout in the gym and meet with some people.”

According to Anderson, Beckham Jr has beenย rehabbing and training hard six to seven days a week up to 7-8 hours a day.

While there has been a lot of trade rumors over the past few weeks regarding Beckham, this is a good sign for him and the Giants moving forward.

Monday is considered to be a key date for Beckham, as showing up for voluntaryย workoutsย and meeting theย new coaching staffย couldย help to getย things off on theย rightย foot, as heย enters a contract year.

It’s possible the two parties could work on a long-term extension this summer, but the Giants have their franchise tag available if they need to use it on him next year.

Beckham, 25, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $10,406,198 contract but the Giants picked up his fifth-year option last year.

Beckham stands to make a base salary of $8,459,000 for the 2018 season.

According toย OverTheCap.com,ย trading Beckham would free up $8,459,000 of available cap space while creating no dead money.

In 2017, Beckham Jr’s season was cut short when he suffered a season-ending injury. He caught 25 passes for 302 yards receiving and three touchdowns over the course of four games.
