The Green Bay Packers officially claimed TE Michael Roberts off of waivers from the Lions on Monday.
The Lions actually agreed to trade Roberts to the Patriots last week for a conditional 2020 seventh-round pick. However, Roberts later failed a physical for the Patriots and reverted back to the Lions.
From there, Detroit placed Roberts on waivers last Friday.
Roberts, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Lions back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.99 million contract.
Roberts stands to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the next two years before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
In 2018, Roberts appeared in eight games for the Lions and caught nine passes for 100 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
