Packers Signing WR Devin Funchess To One-Year, $2.5M Deal

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Packers are expected to sign WR Devin Funchess to a contract.

According to Pelissero, Funchess receives a one-year contract worth $2.5 million that includes a $1 million signing bonus, a $1.2 million base salary, a $50,000 workout bonus and $15,625 per game in active roster bonuses. He also has another $3.75 million available in incentives.

Many had wondered when the Packers were going to add a receiver this offseason and it appears as though it took until Robby Anderson signed for the market to start picking up.

Green Bay could use a receiver to compliment Davante Adams and Funchess is an interesting young player to add to their offense.

Funchess, 25, is a former second-round pick by the Panthers in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He finished his four-year rookie contract with Carolina before agreeing to a one-year deal worth up to $13 million with the Colts last year.

Funchess was once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2019, Funchess appeared in one game and caught three passes for 32 yards receiving before being placed on injured reserve with a broken collarbone.

We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
