Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Packers rookie LB Krys Barnes tested positive for COVID-19, but is not experiencing symptoms as of right now.
Rapoport says that based on the timing of the positive test, it’s possible Barnes could be eligible to come off the COVID-19 list by their next game.
Barnes played in last night’s game against the 49ers, but left the contest after sustaining a calf injury.
You can expect the Packers to place Barnes on the COVID-19 list later today.
Barnes, 22, wound up going undrafted out of UCLA back in April. He later signed a three-year, $2.28 million contract with the Packers.
Green Bay opted to waive Barnes coming out of the preseason, but re-signed him to their practice squad. He was added to their active roster soon after.
In 2020, Barnes has appeared in eight games for the Packers and recorded 50 tackles and one sack.
