Packers LB Oren Burks Believed To Have Torn Pectoral

Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that Packers LB Oren Burks is believed to have a torn pectoral muscle.

According to Demovsky, Burks is scheduled to undergo further testing, but it’s possible the Packers will be looking to replace a starter in their base defense.

Ian Rapoport adds that Green Bay should know if this is a season-ending issue for Burks by early next week.

The Packers have some other options on their roster including Ty Summers, Curtis Bolton and Brady Shelton. It’s also possible that they could get Josh Jones some more work at linebacker.

Burks, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Packers back in 2018. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $3,280,756 contract that included an $820,756 signing bonus.

In 2018, Burks appeared in 14 games for the Packers and recorded 22 tackles and no sacks or interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Burks as the news is available.
