Packers Look To Be Preparing James Starks For Featured RB Role

The Green Bay Packers appear to be prepared to hand James Starks the bulk of carries this season, as he wound up handling all of the team’s first-string reps during OTAs on Tuesday, per Tyler Dunne.

Packers OC Tom Clements added that Brandon Saine figures to be in the mix for a decent role in the team’s offense as well, but his skill set translates to a third-down. 2011 third-round pick Alex Green, who’s coming off of a torn ACL, should also see some work during the season. Green Bay figures to use FB John Kuhn as much, if not more than last season to go along with Starks, but the writing appears to be on the wall in regards to Ryan Grant no longer being a part of their plans for 2012.
