Panthers Bring Veteran OT J’Marcus Webb For A Tryout

Howard Balzer of Lockerdome.com reports that the Panthers brought in veteranย OT J’Marcus Webb in recent days.

  • ESPN’s Adam Caplanย reported earlier in the week that Webbย has also visited with theย Vikings.ย

Webb previously met with theย Chiefsย a few days into free agency, but there hasn’t been any reported interest since then.

The Vikings added a few a interior offensive linemen inย David Yankeyย andย Antonio (Tiny) Richardsonย during the draft, althoughย Richardson was an undrafted free agent signing. It seems likely that they would want to see if Webb could provide some depth at offensive tackle.

Webb, 25, spent last season with theย Vikingsย after some disappointing years inย Chicago. Theย Bearsย used aย seventh-round pick on Webb back in 2010.

Webbย appeared in eight games for the Vikings, but was limited to playing justย 108 snaps at right tackle.
