The Carolina Panthers have claimed DE Jalen Jelks off of waivers from the Cowboys on Monday, according to Mike Jones.
Jelks, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2019. He signed a four-year, $2.6 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $610,000 for the 2020 season.
Jelks wound up being placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and missed his rookie season.
The Cowboys waived Jelks to make room for newly signed DE Everson Griffen.
During his college career at Oregon, Jelks recorded 155 tackles, 15.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, a recovery and 11 passes defended.
