On Thursday, Panthers interim HC Perry Fewell confirmed that rookie Will Grier will, in fact, be the team’s starting quarterback for Week 16’s game against the Colts.
Grier will take over for QB Kyle Allen, who struggled again on Sunday with three interceptions.
With Carolina eliminated from postseason contention, it makes sense to take a look at what they have in Grier ahead of an offseason of major change.
Grier, 24, was selected with the No. 100 overall pick in the third round by the Panthers out of West Virginia. He signed a four-year, $3,299,281 that included a $779,281 signing bonus.
In the 2019 preseason, Grier completed 34 of 61 pass attempts for 385 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He was sacked seven times and had four rush attempts for 30 yards.
