Panthers DE Frank Alexander Suspended For An Entire Year

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Panthers DEย Frank Alexander has been suspended for an entire year for violation the NFL’sย substance abuse policy.

This is the third suspension for a Panthers’ player in the past two days.

Alexander has two priorย substance abuse violations, which explains the lengthy ban for him this time around.

Alexander, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He is in the final year of hisย four-year, $2.57 million rookie contractย and stands to make a base salary ofย $660,000 for the 2015 season.

He unfortunatelyย suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon during the preseason and was placed on season-ending injured reserve.

In 2014, Alexander was limited to appearing in just one game and recording a single tackle.
