The Carolina Panthers hosted free agent CB Trumaine Johnson and K Kai Forbath for visits on Thursday.
Johnson, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Rams before being franchised in back-to-back seasons.
From there, Johnson agreed to a five-year, $72.5 million contract with $34 million fully guaranteed with the Jets back in 2018. However, he lasted just two season in New York before he was released with a post-June 1 designation this past March.
In 2019, Johnson appeared in seven games for the Jets and recorded 25 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
Forbath, 32, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011. Forbath had brief stints with the Buccaneers, Redskins, Saints, and Vikings before signing on with the Jaguars in 2018.
Jacksonville released Forbath last year and had a short stay with the Patriots before joining the Cowboys in December. Dallas elected to re-sign him this offseason back in March but cut him loose coming out of training camp.
In 2019, Forbath converted 11 of 11 field-goal attempts for the Patriots and Cowboys to go along with 11 of 12 extra-point tries (91.7 percent)
