Gibson, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2017. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.65 million contract and set to make a base salary of $645,000 for the 2019 season when the Eagles waived him from injured reserve with a settlement during the preseason.
Gibson re-signed with the Eagles during the playoffs but was once again waived back in July. From there he had a brief stint with Washington before the Panthers signed him to their practice squad a few weeks ago.
In 2018, Gibson appeared in 15 games for the Eagles and caught one pass for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
