The Carolina Panthers announced Friday that they’ve signed G Amini Silatolu on a one-year contract after recently bringing him in for a workout.
Silatolu, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the team and wasย among the best available interior offensive lineman still available in theย free agent market.
Silatolu’s 2015 season was cut short after he suffered a torn left ACL and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.
The Bears signed him to a contract in July only to cut him loose at the start of the season. He, unfortunately, sat out the entire 2016 season.
In 2015, Silatolu appeared in nine games for the Panthers and played a total of 246 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
