Panthers Sign Three Draft Picks Including RB Christian McCaffrey

The Carolina Panthers announced Thursday evening that they’ve signed first-round RB Christian McCaffrey to a four-year rookie contract along with OT Taylor Moton (second round) and FB Alex Armah (sixth round).

According to OverTheCap.com, McCaffrey will receive a four-year contract worth $17,241,304, which includes a signing bonus of $10,679,128. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

McCaffrey, 20, was taken with the No. 8 overall pick by the Panthers after being linked to Carolina for a number of weeks. McCaffrey is the most dynamic player in this year’s draft class and should give the Panthers a versatile weapon to utilize in the coming years.

McCaffrey figures to see time right away in third-down and passing situations, but could also line up as a receiver if needed.

During his college career at Stanford, McCaffrey rushed for 3,915 yards on 631 carries (6.2 YPC) to go along with 100 receptions for 1,213 yards receiving and 31 total touchdowns over the course of 37 games.
