Adam Schefter reports that the Panthers are signing veteran S Tre Boston to a one-year, $3 million contract.
Boston, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2,625,468 contract when the Panthers cut him in 2017.
Boston later caught on with the Chargers shortly after the 2017 draft. He agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals for the 2018 season.
The Giants, Raiders, and Browns reportedly showed interest in him this offseason but was never signed to a contract.
In 2018, Boston appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and recorded 79 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 24 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
