Patriots Could Lose Some Notable Coaches & Executives In 2019

According to Jason La Canfora, team and league sources have indicated that more members of the Patriots organization than ever before are open to opportunities outside of New England next year.

La Canfora reports that there is a growing sense around the league that there could be a “significant exodus of coaching and front-office talent this offseason.

Beyond that, La Canfora says there are serious concerns within the organization about how the Patriots will function once owner Robert Kraft, 77, eventually transfers day-to-day operations fully to son, Jonathan.

“This is the time to get out, and those guys know it,” an NFL executive with ties to several members of the Patriots staff tells La Canfora. “There will be a lot of guys in there ready to see what else is out there.”

Both OC Josh McDaniels and DC Brian Flores are expected to draw head-coaching interest for the second straight year, and should have opportunities elsewhere if they’re ready to move on.

Another name to watch is Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio, who has been a popular GM candidate for years now. Sources have told La Canfora that he’s open to discussing his future with interested teams this offseason.

There were questions about what HC Bill Belichick’s would be moving forward last year. However, there hasn’t been any recent reports about Belichick’s future and possible retirement in recent months.

We’ll have more regarding the Patriots as the news is available.
