Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports that the Patriotsย have been fieldingย trade offers forย WRย Aaron Dobson ahead of the deadline to cut rosters down to 75 players.
- Breer points out that Dobson has played 128 snaps this preseason and has plenty of tape to show NFL teams.
There are a number of players on the trading block right now, as teams are hoping to recoup at least a late-round pick in return for a guy that is likely to be released in the coming days.
Dobson, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. He is in the final year of hisย four-year, $3.428 million rookie contract that includedย $1.173 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $872,505ย in 2016.
According to OverTheCap.com, trading Dobson would free up $872,505 in available cap space while creating $218,340 in dead money.
In 2015,ย Dobson appeared in eight games and caught 13 passes for 141 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
