Patriots Fielding Trade Offers For WR Aaron Dobson

Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports that the Patriots have been fielding trade offers for WR Aaron Dobson ahead of the deadline to cut rosters down to 75 players.

  • Breer points out that Dobson has played 128 snaps this preseason and has plenty of tape to show NFL teams.

There are a number of players on the trading block right now, as teams are hoping to recoup at least a late-round pick in return for a guy that is likely to be released in the coming days.

Dobson, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. He is in the final year of his four-year, $3.428 million rookie contract that included $1.173 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $872,505 in 2016.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Dobson would free up $872,505 in available cap space while creating $218,340 in dead money.

In 2015, Dobson appeared in eight games and caught 13 passes for 141 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
